Intel working on to reduce cost of computers

Global computer chip giant Intel Corporation is working on reducing cost of computers so that it can be made more accessible, a top company official said here Monday. Ajay Bhatt, fellow at Intel Corporation and co-inventor of USB said, "about one billion out of a total of a six billion people across the world have been using computers. Now we are targeting the remaining 5 billion and want to provide computers to them at a lower cost and we have been making efforts in that direction."Bhatt who holds nine US patents and became a celebrity after an ad campaign launched by the company is an alumni of the Maharaja Sayajirao University here and was in the city for a lecture. Bhatt also informed that Intel has been engaged in developing Intel Management Technology for addressing the problem of virus attacks on computers. That apart he said "efforts are being made in the direction of reducing the cost of maintenance of the computers". Bhatt said research is on to develop ’Light Pea’ technology to increase the speed of communications and making delivery faster.
